Who we are

A dirt company started by finishing a job nobody expected us to finish

Cornerstone Earthworks came out of a single 67-acre drainage package. The equipment dealer who financed the fleet said most outfits with ten years behind them couldn't have closed it out. That was our first project.

How we operate

We are a small, self-performing crew based in Rockwall, Texas, working commercial sitework across DFW and North Texas. Our sweet spot is $500K to $1M packages — big enough to matter, small enough that the owner is on your site instead of behind a layer of project managers.

Detail is the whole business. Riprap gets set behind wing walls so concrete reads as part of the earth. Limestone gets dressed around structures. Approaches get regraded because they should have been. When we over-order material, it goes into the job, not onto a change order.

We are also blunt about price. You cannot buy top-quality sitework at the cheapest number on the table, and we would rather lose the bid than pretend otherwise. What we will do is show you exactly where every dollar goes and stand behind the result.

Kyle also owns Roofs by Peterson, a commercial roofing company. Same standards, different trade — and separate crews, so neither one ever waits on the other.

Who you'll deal with

Kyle Peterson

Owner / Estimating & Field Operations

Walks every site, writes every number, and holds the crew to a finish standard most owners never ask for. Also owns Roofs by Peterson, the company's commercial roofing arm.

Dwight

Field Superintendent

Runs production day to day — grade control, material logistics and crew sequencing on active sites.

Maria McMillan

Admin & Operations

Contracts, submittals, scheduling and pay applications. The reason paperwork never holds up a pour.
